Moderated by Ambassador Yoka Brandt, this webinar will preview the Lancet-SIGHT Commission’s research on the relationshipsamong health equity, gender equality, and peaceful societies. President Tarja Halonen will provide opening remarks, followed by experts sharing new research and reflections on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in fragile and conflict-affected settings. Speakers will discuss how interventions to promote gender equality and health equity can contribute to the effort to “build back better” after the pandemic and better address the layered challenges of COVID-19 and armed conflict.
