Swedish Networks for

Global Health

– implementing the 2030 Agenda

The purpose of the Swedish Networks for Global Health is bringing together a variety of actors from academia, government offices and authorities, civil society and private sector with a common interest to increase the impact of Swedish action in global health within different thematic areas, based on organisations’ assignments and mandates, through coordinated and joint action.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA) has given the Swedish Institute for Global Health Transformation (SIGHT), as a natural catalyst in science-based global health work, the task to facilitate the establishment of Swedish Networks for Global Health, supporting the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.

The document Sweden’s work on global health seeks to bring together and consolidate existing strategies, priorities and policies with the aim of setting out a clear and common agenda and creating the conditions for more effective communications, increased collaboration and, ultimately, more impactful Swedish actions. The focus is on our global action, but what happens in Sweden is an important starting point.

This is merely a start, not the end. The goal is to make Sweden a stronger player in implementing the 2030 Agenda.
